Weird Summer

The summer was no where. So neither was the garden. It is September and summer has finally made an appearence. Too late I am now ready for fall. The only things I clipped from any garden of ours this year was some oregano, lavender and a few flowers. Since we plan to leave this house within the year I have NO plans to put anything new in the ground and I DO plan on taking some things with me. I hope others had better luck this year!

The New Flower Bed

So my husband was tired of having so much lawn. He decided to take up a bunch of sod next to the house and bring in some plants from work. I love love love all of the plants he brought home. Not to mention the strawberries! I have also decided to move my herbs up here. So come mid-summer walking up my porch will smell divine. There is a picture here of the garden bed after planting. A lot of these are ground covers and will spread out with time. We will be placing some beauty bark down also to help with the empty spots. The other pictures are of the Oregano in there. I can not believe how big it is getting. Then a strawberry picture. I also started some sunflowers int he green house and in one of the pictures you can see I planted those towards the back by the porch. I have also placed a picture on here of my our new mint plant that my mother in-law gave us. I can not wait until this all really takes off!
